Spend a full day on the wheel with veteran ceramic artist Unha Hill, learning the traditional Korean throwing technique that uses significantly less water. Less water means more stable clay and pieces hold their shape better on the wheel and lift off the bat far more easily.
We’ll spend the morning building a strong foundation in the technique, then spend the afternoon applying it to throwing tall forms
This is a technique-focused workshop: all pieces are reclaimed at the end of class, so you can experiment freely without worrying about what to keep.
Duration: 8 hours with a 1 hour lunch break
Perfect for: Potters looking to sharpen their fundamentals, learn a new (and more efficient) approach to throwing, and challenge themselves with taller forms.
What’s included:
- A full day of hands-on instruction with Unha Hill
- All clay for the day
- Basic throwing tools (bring your own if you have ones you prefer)
This workshop is for potters with some wheel experience — you should have a minimum of 8 weeks of throwing practice and be comfortable centering, opening, and pulling up walls before joining.
